My Story
After working in professions ranging from US Naval Officer to a builder of custom Harleys and any number of jobs in between, Iain pursued his longstanding ambition of becoming a doctor. He earned his medical degree on the border of England and Cornwall. As a student doctor he spent time in Sierra Leone jungle aiding in post Ebola resilience efforts. He then worked on the Isle of Wight before moving to the Sunny Coast to further his training. Having lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast, Emerald, Gympie, and in rural palliative care, he now calls Maleny his home in this Great Southern Land.
Iain believes that quality medical care is a basic tenet of a just society. In that regard he is committed to fostering health literacy and engagement in community. He is excited to form therapeutic partnerships with, and learn from, patients so that they may achieve their personal goals in all stages of life.
Outside of work, Iain enjoys the occasional single origin espresso and well written prose. He appreciates the beauty of the coast and hinterlands and hopes to see them under the canopy of an open parachute if time allows him to take up skydiving again. He has a keen interest in music, albeit with a proficiency in audience as opposed to any musical talent. He also enjoys fast cars, motorcycles, and all types of custom vehicles. In general, Iain finds great fascination stumbling across the weird and wonderful aspects that sculpt our shared humanity.
